Carrie's home again
At last Carrie is back from the spray shop with her new ivory coat and it was a bit of a mission getting her back together in time for Carlisle's annual Steam Fair. We got there albeit with no hood, half a tonneau and frequent showers. I took an outdoor cover to keep off the heavy stuff and a good day was had by all finishing in glorious sunshine.
The Jaguar Enthusiast's Club kindly invited me to put Carrie on their stand which was a lovely gesture and they made me most welcome. I'm hoping to make it to the local meet next week!
Many thanks to Derek Teal for the Carisma logo which I think looks great on the radiator shell and the rear panel. It also stops people asking what it is !

While I'm waiting for my car to come back from the spray shop

On the subject of EBay (UK) there are two "SS 100" for sale at the moment, a lovely white Suffolk SS replica at £59995 and a genuine job in black at a mere £235000.

Also listed on Ebay is an interesting brochure from former USA kitcar suppliers Antique and Classic Automotive Inc. It would make a fascinating read and is well worth a look for the pics alone, one of which I have reproduced here.

Bare naked lady in Carlisle

It's been a while since I posted but my 'lady' has been stripped right back for a respray. I've put the wings and front valance back on loosely for transport to the paint shop where she is heading on Monday. After ages deliberating on the colour and buying various sample aerosols and pre painting panels I have finally decided on - Old English White. Yes, pretty much the same as before! I even resprayed an SS100 model in OEW to make comparisons with the green I was considering (I really should get out more). Fingers crossed that it is a good spray job and that I manage to get her back together without incident!

My dear Lady in Red, has to be sold as I may be moving soon where I cannot find parking for her. I will sell her reluctantly as she has been the most desirable car I have ever owned. I am asking £12,000 plus all the extras I bought but did not fit yet, i.e. extra badge bar, brookland windshields, and the metal parts of an old MG windscreen which can fold, but needs replating etc. She has full weather gear and a current MOT, and is very economical in fuel. Anyone interested please e-mail me at john.williams13@hotmail.com for more details.
